# Shopify

> Trigger SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS messages from Shopify store events through OneXtel, with delivery tracking in the app dashboard.

The Shopify app sends SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS messages in response to store events — order
confirmations, delivery updates, and similar transactional moments. You map each event to a
template once, and every matching order sends automatically.

## Scope

| Channel | Supported |
| - | :-: |
| SMS | ✅ |
| WhatsApp | ✅ |
| RCS | ✅ |

For RCS, the app also tracks suggestion replies and URL actions in addition to standard
delivery status.

## Setup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the app">
    Install the OneXtel application from the Shopify Marketplace and grant the requested
    permissions. It appears under **Apps** in your store dashboard. If you already have it,
    go to **Dashboard → Settings** and update to the latest version.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add an account">
    Open the app and go to the **Authentication** tab, then select the channel you are
    configuring.

    For **SMS** and **WhatsApp**, click **Add Account** and enter an account name and your
    OneXtel API key.

    For **RCS**, enter the account name, sender profile, API key, and message type, then click
    **Add Account**.

    You can add multiple accounts per channel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Register the DLR callback">
    Share the callback URL shown in the app with the OneXtel team so delivery updates are
    routed back to your store. Make sure it is configured for every API key you use — an
    unregistered key sends messages but reports no status.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Map events to templates">
    Go to the channel's mapping tab — **SMS Mapping**, **WhatsApp Mapping**, or **RCS
    Mapping** — and click **Add Trigger** or **Add Template**. Select the store event, the
    configured account, and the template. If the template has placeholders, choose the values
    to bind from the placeholder dropdown. Save the trigger.

    Create as many triggers as you need; existing ones can be edited or deleted later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test the integration">
    Ensure a customer account exists with both a phone number and an email address, then place
    a test order to fire an order-creation trigger. The message sends to the customer.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Tracking delivery

Open the app and go to the **DLR** tab:

| Report | Location |
| - | - |
| SMS and WhatsApp delivery status | **DLR → SMS** / **DLR → WhatsApp** |
| RCS delivery status | **DLR → RCS → DLR** |
| RCS suggestion replies and URL actions | **DLR → RCS → Advanced DLR** |

## Requirements

* A Shopify store with permission to install apps.
* A OneXtel account with the relevant channels enabled, and a registered sender for each —
  an [SMS sender ID](/guides/sms/sender-id), a WhatsApp Business number, or an
  [RCS agent](/guides/rcs-platform/sender-profiles).
* Approved templates in OneXtel for each channel you use.

## Limitations

* **Sends are event-triggered.** The app fires on Shopify store events; it is not a campaign
  tool for ad-hoc or segmented broadcasts.
* **Inbound messages are not routed to Shopify.** RCS suggestion replies and URL actions are
  reported in Advanced DLR, but free-form customer replies are not surfaced in the store.
