The LeadSquared plugin adds WhatsApp to LeadSquared’s messaging actions. Sales and marketing teams message leads from the same screens they already use, and replies and delivery status come back against the lead.

Scope

Outbound

Template and free-form WhatsApp messages sent from lead actions or from an automation.

Inbound

Customer replies routed back into LeadSquared, optionally generating new leads.

Delivery reports

Sent, delivered, and failed status synced back for every message.

Compliance

Opt-in or opt-out enforcement mapped to a lead field, with a daily message limit.

Supported message types

Setup

1

Install the app

In LeadSquared, go to Apps → Apps Marketplace and install WhatsApp Business.
2

Configure basic details

Open the WhatsApp Business app and click Configure under settings. If this is a new handshake, click Add a new number, then set:
  • Account Name
  • Enable Lead Generation on Incoming Message — optional, creates a lead when an unknown number messages you
  • Lead Source — if required
Click Save.
3

Authenticate

Go to the Authentication tab and provide:Click Save. LeadSquared then signs in against the connector and stores the API token it receives; your settings, including webhook details, are saved at the same time.
4

Map activity and number fields

Under Advanced Settings, select WhatsApp Message as the activity under Activity Mapping, choose Mobile Number as the default WhatsApp number field, and set your default country code — for example +91.
5

Set compliance rules

Choose Opt-Out or Opt-In depending on your requirement, and map the corresponding lead field — for example Do Not Call. Review the message limit (for example 1000/day) and click Save.
6

Add templates

Go to Apps → WhatsApp Templates and click Add New Template. Enter the Template ID and Namespace from OneXtel, then work through the following pages to add the header (image, video, document, or text), the body content, and finally the footer and buttons.

Send a message

Go to With Masters → Manage With Masters, select a master, then choose Messaging → WhatsApp → Send Message to Lead. Select the template to send, then choose which user the message is sent from. Click Send — a confirmation appears once the message is accepted, and each send returns a unique identifier used to correlate the delivery report.

Sending from automations

The plugin responds to a LeadSquared custom event, so WhatsApp sends can be triggered from your existing lead workflows rather than only by hand — for example when a lead reaches a particular stage.

Reporting

Requirements

  • An active LeadSquared account with access to the Apps Marketplace.
  • A OneXtel account with WhatsApp enabled, a registered WhatsApp Business number, and your API key.
  • WhatsApp templates approved in OneXtel before they can be added in LeadSquared. See Create templates.

Limitations

  • WhatsApp only. RCS and SMS are not covered by this plugin.
  • Templates are registered by ID, not synced. LeadSquared references the OneXtel template ID and namespace; it does not create or submit templates for approval, and it will not pick up edits made in OneXtel.
  • A daily message limit applies per the value set during configuration.
  • Message types outside the supported list above fall back to the WhatsApp API.
